This may seem an unneccessary question to ask but it does have a bearing on ideas which come later.
Nearly all that lives is male and female. If God's handiwork reflects 'his' character then God must be both male and female. If God was neuter then surely he would have created a neuter world. It could have been done, but no: male and female is the norm. Male and female is the nature of God.
